Pieces of art made by Benuz, regarded as a graffiti pioneer in Mexico, and Juandrés Vera, an urban artist whose work plays with viewer’s perspective, will be a part of Magic City: The Art of the Street, an exhibition that will take place in Munich on July, 27th.
The work of Benuz mystical pre-Columbian symbols into the present-day while incorporating influences of artists like José Guadalupe Posadas and Barry McGee.
Juandrés Vera’s murals utilize hyperrealism and three-dimensionality to talk about politics, religions, as well as everyday issues.
Alongside them, Magic City: The Art of the Street features more than 50 urban artists, including Banksy, Bordalo II, Blek le Rat, Dan Witz, Faith47, Herakut, Icy & Sot, Isaac Cordal, Mark Bode, Olek, Ori Carino, Roa, Ron English, Shepard Fairey, Tristan Eaton, Truly and Yok.
Besides murals, multimedia installations, 3-D art, photography, and miniatures, the exhibition promotes urban art through workshops, concerts and guided visits. Magic City: The Art of the Street will get to Stockholm on October 28.
