To all cars and street art fans, check out BMW and Futura’s proposal
Currently, the formula that combines street art and luxury brands is creating interesting proposals; it’s BMW and Futura’s turn to present three exclusive custom cars.

The pieces by the iconic artist and the car manufacturer will be revealed at the Frieze Art Fair at Paramount Pictures Studios in Hollywood, from February 13-16. This fair gathers more than 170 contemporary art galleries and commissioned pieces.
Hence, Futura 2000’s collaboration focuses on the exterior design of the vehicles. Consequently, we will see the combination of colors, concentric shapes and the kinetic composition that are so characteristic of the artist.

Thus, he took the silhouette of the BMW M2 Competition and intervened it completely. He even got into the interior design. The company revealed images where the artist is seen executing his ideas spray paint in hand.
The final result will remain a secret until the opening of the fair. However, they revealed that there will also be a limited edition version: the BMW M2 Edition. It will be up for sale in June of this year.

The final result is much anticipated since Futura is and will always be one of the most important graffiti pioneers of the 80s. We have high expectations to see his work embodied in luxury cars like these and it will surely be quite a show to see some on the street.

It will be very interesting to see his commercial artist side in a space like Frieze. What do you guys think about the relationship between street art and a product or brand?
