For all meatless food lovers, check out the first vegan steak
At present, we know that there are many people demanding a decrease in the consumption of animal meat; that’s why Novameat introduced the first vegan fillet printed with a 3D machine.
The company based in Barcelona created the first piece of meat made with this technology. Best of all, it’s a plant-based beef fillet. In fact, its creators say it reproduces the texture, taste, and appearance of beef.
On the other hand, in addition to reducing animal exploitation for food, the goal of this way of producing food is to reduce the pollution generated by the meat industry. Additionally, it will expand potential consumers as it will not contain soy or gluten
Best of all, the company plans to raise 500,000 euros to improve its new technology. Moreover, the creator of this project is Giuseppe Scionti who foresees that the development of the pilot will take place over the next year and a half.
However, the wait will be worthwhile. With this initiative, Novameat will officially enter the market for foods that use technologies like 3D printing. Furthermore, they seek to go further by improving aspects of this “meat” in terms of texture, taste, appearance and nutritional value.
And, for all of you who wonder about the components of this new meat, it’s a mix of rice proteins, peas, and seaweed fibers. “The idea came to me while trying to create a prototype human ear,” Scionti explains.
Finally, this researcher seeks to develop the product and technology to be able to commercialize it. All we have to do is wait for the news regarding this technology which, many vegans will surely love.
In the meantime, check out this video that is very related to the topic. What an amazing technological advancement, right?
