Artez worked on Hometown in April, a mural in his native Serbia

Artist Artez made a mural called Hometown in the capital of Serbia, where he is originally from. The work includes several key elements of the country and was completed before the current madness of Covid-19.

Artez is an artist with a peculiar style that takes everyday human figures to a pictorial plane. Additionally, he uses similarities between the realistic, fantastic, and natural of its contexts.

This time he presents his last mural made in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, completed at the end of April, during an advanced stage of quarantine in that country.

The mural is made on a wall of approximately 300 square meters and took 15 working days, mainly due to the quarantine, since special permits were needed to work during this season.

In addition, as a curious fact, he suffered some problems with scaffolding that were mounted twice for safety. However, everything turned out positive and he managed to portray an image that is inspired by the city.

Moreover, some of the elements that the mural has are a sparrow, one of the symbols of this capital; in addition to an ancient fortress that is displayed in the background of the mural.

As for the human aspect, this is represented with a woman sitting on a stool, behind a sofa and elements that give the context of a room surrounded by nature.

This same woman finds herself blowing towards the sparrow, pretending to let him go. Moreover, this is something that might represent the current situation in homes and the desired freedom post coronavirus.
