Thus, between the mountains, in the waves, across fields and horizons, you can find some silhouette, nose or eyes that reveal the majesty of the felines. Under the slogan Doodling a Smile the artist turns his illustrations into smiles for all cat lovers.

In addition to these kitties, his art is characterized by the powerful simplicity of its atmospheres. That is, he uses a minimalist aesthetic composed of flat colors, geometric and abstract shapes, making a composition of all these on two planes.

Heng Swee’s Cat Landscape series look like depictions of cat-inhabited worlds. Furthermore, the images also evoke the great masters of Japanese art like the iconic Hokusai, among others. Hence, in The Great Wave we see small white cats roll with the movement of the sparkling water.

“Recently, I began exploring the art of the minimalist landscape and discovered that the curves and shapes of the earth have many similarities to the curves and shapes of the cat,” said Lim Heng. In other words, the curves of nature are intertwined with the small feline bodies.
