Nike Jesus Shoes: sneakers with Holy water

MSCHF launched Nike Jesus Shoes to mock absurd collaborations

Religion is no reason to be in a fight with fashion Nike Jesus Shoes are proof of it. Their current value starts at $3,000. Why you might ask. They are blessed with Jordan water (nuff said, as Spike Lee would put it).

Jordan is not to be confused with the popular Nike sub-brand. It refers to the name of the river where according to the Christian religion, Jesus Christ was baptized.

They allude to heaven, clouds, and everlasting Glory

These Nike sneakers are the Nike Air Max 97 model in white with light blue details. These allude to heaven, the clouds and all the everlasting glory professed in the Catholic religion.

And no, although you think it’s a joke, it isn’t, Nike really released them in the market. Originally priced at $1,425, they sold out pretty quick and the prices was raised to $3,000. And this is only an average, because in some forums, they’re selling them up to 8 times the original price.

But don’t worry, according to the MSCHF page, Nike will have more. Various countdowns will be held in its official site under the name “Jesus Shoes.” The next release is scheduled for November 12. The countdown is then repeated every 14 days until August 10 of next year.

However, we don’t know if it will be the same Jesus sneaker we know. Since there may be some other variation like the model, colors, etc. Or not. This is creating a significant demand regarding the official releases of each of these pairs.

This par contains holy water inside the transparent soles, which comes from the Jordan River and is carefully injected in the sneaker.

In addition, the insoles smell of incense and are printed with the words “MSCHF INRI,” making a direct reference to religion and the brand that launched them.

Air Max with crucifixes

Additionally, it has crucifixes as accessories that are intertwined between the laces. Besides the religious context, they’re really a very elegant and clean pair of Air Max kicks.

Finally, the designer stated that his purpose was to mock collaborations a bit. It shows how absurd they sometimes are in order to make more money.
