To this day, very few audiovisual documentaries explored street art in Latin America. Moreover, this documentary travels from Mexico to Argentina to unveil it.

Nuevo Mundo was created by the Chilean production company Tercermundo and directed by Juan Tamayo. Additionally, it was produced by Paulina Ferretti and Guillermo Migrik and their team.

The recording of the documentary series took two years of footage from the US-Mexico border to Argentina. Thus, one can find different world views, purposes, and styles of street art. But all under the same premise that unites them regardless of where in Latin America it was made. “Where there is a wall, there is a territory. Where there is a territory, there is a dispute over its use and control. ”

In eight chapters, urban artists and muralists show the identity of their work and the relationship with Latin America. In addition to going through techniques, styles and the current impact of street art.

Some of the featured artists and collectives include Said Dokins, Os Gemeos, Toxicomano, and Cementerio de Elefantes. Hence, the walls are covered with all kinds of visual expressions.

So far, the premiere will be in Argentina, Bolivia, and Chile, but hopefully, it will reach other countries. The approach that has been given to something so common in the streets as urban art is interesting, and despite everything, it still has its vandalism and protest origins.
