Penis Man, the mysterious graffiti invading Arizona

Who the hell is Penis Man? That is the million-dollar question!

There are many graffiti and street art phenomena that come up anonymously on the streets of the world; Penis Man is one of them, where no one saw or acknowledged its existence except through tags.

Thus, the people of Tempe, in Arizona, discovered a series of tags (38 to be exact), in the vicinity of the city. The first tags appeared in November. Since then the mysterious Penis Man has been seen in unimagined corners.

The signature appeared in dumpsters; on the walls of buildings; train cars; bridges among other places. Moreover, even if the issue may seem insignificant, the counter opinions have been going wild.

“There are some people, of course, who think it’s fun,” said Isaac Chavira, Tempe’s Transportation Maintenance Manager. “And then there are others who are sensitive to the problem and want it removed immediately.”

As a result, Tempe’s authorities took action in the matter and deleted all Penis Man’s tags and other graffiti artists. Interestingly, the city recorded 299,889 cases related to graffiti tags in 2019 alone.

Additionally, the tags are described as “disgusting,” “unpleasant,” “funny,” “profane,” amongts other connotations. The truth is that the “Penis Man’s” identity is still a mystery. However, his nickname or tag became famous on social media and is an inspiration for meme creation.

Finally, we’ll need to find out who this unknown character really is. Or, simply continue witnessing the pieces of this anonymous artist throughout Arizona.
