The Selfie 2 Waifu website allows you to be an anime character

Selfie 2 Waifu is another example of the progress that artificial intelligence has made in photography and art. It’s a portal that turns any human face inserted in the portal into an anime.

Moreover, we recently talked about programs that interpret artists’ work. Furthermore, we spoke of many that make music and others that are tools for all kinds of creators.

However, on this road to evolution, we reach a point that calls for some healthy entertainment. You can use this technology to get a few laughs and continue discovering their use.

Selfie 2 Waifu: you’re an anime

Among this learning pool of apps is Selfie 2 Waifu, which does not have a use for anything specific per se, but that does not take away the impressive action it performs by recognizing faces and transforming them into something new.

This program basically transforms any face that it receives into an anime-like appearance, taking the world of Japanese caricature to a whole other level for fans and curious ones.

This site is based on the official Tensorflow implementation, an open-source library for machine learning created by Google. All this through tasks that enable systems to build and train neural networks. Thus, these detect and decipher patterns and correlations to human learning and reasoning. And, even if it sounds complex, it simply learns from what it sees, interpreting it in its own style; in this case, the anime.

In addition, in the last few days, several Twitter users have uploaded their selfies to the platform where you can appreciate the anime interpretation of each face even better.

And to everyone’s surprise, the portal is free, so you can see what you look like as an anime. All you have to do is upload your photo to and ta da: you’re an anime!
