Murakami will launch a collection of Uniqlo clothing with Billie Eilish
At the end of May, Uniqlo’s new collection will hit stores with Billie Eilish and Takashi Murakami T-shirts. This release is additional to the Spring-Summer collections that have already been launched.
This new line of T-shirts will include some of Murakami’s graphic style and the visual identity of Billie Eilish. However, it’s still a mystery what the designs in the collection will look like. Hence, not much is known about this new collaboration with Uniqlo and that has us at the edge of our seat. Usually, the brand reveals the entire graphic collection before its launch.
Mainly to create a high expectation to fans of animations, artists, or styles. Moreover, the only thing that has been revealed is the image of a T-shirt, which might be the main design.
This isn’t the first time Murakami and Eilish have joined to create something visual; they had a collaboration last year. They presented a series of illustrations based on science fiction.
Additionally, mid-year, they had an exhibition in Japan with very unique sculptures and visual art. Furthermore, the sculpture exhibited on that occasion is now featured in this new collaboration. Thus, we can expect some of the graphics from the exhibition in this new clothing line.
Moreover, we know this thanks to a video that the brand uploaded showing a 3D animation of the Billie statue wearing a T-shirt with the name of the singer with Murakami flowers.
Finally, the collection will hit Uniqlo stores at the end of May and the prices, well, we’ll just have to wait. However, they’re expected to be in the same range as all their graphic tees.
