The Jardin d’Acclimatation is where a dinosaur installation by the artist Julien Nonnon is bringing new life to the space.
The piece is entitled Prehistoric Safari. The most fascinating thing about it is that, as night falls, the creatures emerge from the walls to make themselves present in a light hologram. A Jurassic world tears down the barriers of space and time to show us these Prehistoric animals.
Thus, the installation is created with video mapping technology to project said images. However, the most interesting thing is the concept that the artist has of this piece. His intention was to combine digital art, photography, video, architecture, and the natural scenery of the place.
As a result, there are 17 3D projections from this initiative. Best of all, we can see species that existed in the Cretaceous period, such as a T-Rex or a yellow-eyed Triceratops with a huge jaw.
Above all, the artist says that he was totally inspired by the adventure books of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Jules Verne, and Michael Crichton. Steven Spielberg’s films influenced it too, of course.
The project also features the companies Rebirth Productions and Wild Immersion. In addition, the exhibition includes live shows and information about these species.
Finally, Prehistoric Safari will be available every night until January 5, 2020, at the Jardin d’Acclimatation.
We leave you with Julien Nonnon’s official website so you can keep up with his work based on projections and mapping.
