Given social distancing activities, MoMA will offer free art and design online courses which can be of great use to beginners and professionals alike.
Many of the world’s great museums have implemented the use of technology over the past few weeks due to social distancing and global confinement.
Many of them have managed to implement their activities online for their audience. These include tours, exclusive content, and courses related to the area of each museum.
The Museum of Modern Art in New York (MoMA) has now joined this initiative. Hence, it announced that it will offer virtual classes through Coursera’s platform for the entire public.
Among the highlights are“Fashion as Design” which explores the impact of fashion design from a social, cultural, and environmental standpoint, all explained by designers, historians, and manufacturers in the industry.
Another is “Modern Art & Ideas,” where you can analyze some outstanding museum pieces through elements such as places, spaces, art, ideas, and the cultural relationship between art and society.
Moreover, in total there are about 10 courses that are free of charge with unlimited registrations. They are also offered in several languages to reach a wider audience.
