Light, water, the internet, the mortgage! These Kamasutra-inspired illustrations are the perfect cure against stress
The company Uncommon and acclaimed graphic designer Noma Bar published a book of illustrations inspired by the Kamasutra, which, in mortgage jargon, alleviate our pre and post-mortgage payment stress.
The project is part of an advertising campaign for mortgage lender Habito. It’s entitled Mortgage Kama Sutra and it’s basically a series of illustrations that show the impact of stress caused by mortgage payments.
In this sense, one of those impacts is felt in a couple’s sex life. That’s why the language of the illustrations is a parody of mortgage jargon. The goal is to alleviate all these financial concerns and not interfere with British citizens’ privacy and life.
The illustrations are strategically designed to portray these paradoxes creatively. The color palette is made up of white, yellow, green and red. In addition, the book has a section with the following quote:
“One in ten couples say getting a mortgage makes their sex lives hell. Habito finds for you the best solution so you can focus on other fun things.” Habito actually conducted a survey to prove this.
On the other hand, Noma Bar said: “Working on a project that exceeds the limits of its category is always pleasant. I think it’s innovative to see a mortgage company that connects mortgage jargon with sexuality, I don’t think I’ve seen anything like it before.”
Finally, the publication is available on the Habito website, for all those looking for some visual pleasure.
