The show must go on! Now NuArt Aberdeen 2020 launches Lock Down Paste Up
Another thing we don’t like about the pandemic is that it took away the opportunity to see and attend great urban art festivals around the world. NuArt Aberdeen 2020 is one of them and even as they were going to celebrate their 20th anniversary. However, the organizers recommend that we take a look at what will go down at Lock Down Paste Up.
Hence, faced with the impossibility of bringing international artists the NuArt Aberdeen gang will hold at an event made up by local artists. Best of all, the festival now offers a smaller but equally powerful format and what better than with paste up.
Despite the current health crisis, NuArt still felt a desire to connect with the Aberdeen community. However, in the face of adversity due to the global pandemic, this project can prove how important outdoor art can be in times of uncertainty.
Furthermore, for this edition, the theme of Freedom becomes a reference point for the pieces. “There is an opportunity here to show why street art culture, and underground cultures in general, are deeply relevant to these times,” Reed writes.
Artists participating in Lock Down Paste Up include Biancoshock (IT), Icy & Sot (IR), Jacoba Neipoort (DK), Jofre Oliveras (ES), Nuno Viegas (PT), Paul Harfleet (UK), Sandra Chevrier (CAN) and Vladimir Abikh (UK).
Lastly, the festival aims to be a bridge that continues to communicate art with the public. For more details, go to the festival’s official website.
